A Sevilla supporter was ejected from their LaLiga match with Real Madrid after allegedly directing racist abuse towards Vinicius Jr during the 1-1 draw live

The Brazil international played 88 minutes of the fixture at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan where Madrid captain Dani Carvajal’s header 12 minutes from time cancelled out David Alaba’s own goal live

Vinicius Jr later posted on social media about being on the receiving end of racism during the match on Saturday night, which Sevilla have now confirmed was the case live

A club statement read: “Sevilla FC would like to communicate that, after detecting xenophobic and racist behaviour, a member of the public was identified, ejected from the stadium and handed over to legal authorities live

“The individual will also be subject to the club’s vigorous internal disciplinary protocols and have their membership revoked live

“Sevilla FC condemns all racist and xenophobic behaviour and will work closely with the authorities to ensure that action is taken accordingly live

This behaviour does not belong at Sevilla FC live

”Vinicius Jr was in the thick of the action throughout the draw, denied a penalty at the end of the first half before he was booked five minutes from time after he clashed with Sevilla goalkeeper Orjan Nyland, which sparked a brief melee live between both sets of players live

It was only back in May when Madrid filed racism directed at Vinicius Jr as a “hate crime” to the Spanish State Attorney General’s Office following a string of alleged racist attacks aimed at the 23-year-old live

LaLiga called at the time for a legislation change to allow them to impose punishment on clubs for episodes of racist abuse and Vinicius Jr has stressed once more the need for change, especially with Spain hoping to host the 2030 World Cup alongside Portugal and Morocco live

“Congratulations to Sevilla on the quick positioning and the penalty in another sad episode for Spanish live Football,” Vinicius Jr said in a social media post live

“Unfortunately I have access to a video of another racist act at this Saturday’s game, this time carried out by a child live

So sad there is no one to educate her live

Richard Thompson hopes to make cricket “the most inclusive sport in the country” after seeing a new state-of-the-art venue open in Bradford live

5million, 10-bay all-weather cricket dome opened at Bradford Park Avenue cricket ground on Friday, the first of its kind anywhere in the world live

The facility features two 40 x 20-metre covered domes with lighting, a real-life like cricket surface and a retractable netting system which fully replicates the features of an elite indoor facility, allowing for both training and matches to be played live

Funded by the England and Wales Cricket Board in partnership with City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council, the new facility could provide cricket sessions for around 10,000 people from the local community annually live

ECB chair Thompson is excited by the opportunities that the facility could provide for boys and girls in the area, and to open the sport up to ethnic minorities live

He told the PA news agency: “It is essential live

It is everything live

My ambition for cricket is for it to become the most inclusive sport in the country live

“You’ve got to do that by taking barriers down live

This is a community facility, anyone can play here live

“So if people wants to play in Bradford they can, whatever the weather and whatever the day live

So from that perspective, we need to replicate that fast because there are other areas where it is just as great live

But Bradford is a hotbed of enthusiasm for cricket so this is the obvious place to start live

”Previously, Bradford Park Avenue had an outdoor nets facility but this will now enable local cricketers to play all year round and in any weather live

The investment is also good news for Yorkshire, who were punished for their handling of allegations of racism and bullying by former player Azeem Rafiq and a failure to address systemic use of racist and discriminatory language over a prolonged period live

Thompson now hopes the facility can help restore pride to the club live

He added: “Hopefully this gives Yorkshire the sense of pride and a feel-good factor back live

“They can say we have the first facility of this type anywhere in the world, it is truly world class and in that sense there is no county that needed it and deserved it more live

“The ECB couldn’t be prouder, the partnership we are in with Yorkshire, the council, local MP, all of that to pull this together live

Things like this have a lot of moving pieces to them but now to see it built is absolutely outstanding live

The new facility is the first to be built in the world but the ECB does not want the good work to stop here after sites in Luton and Walsall have also been identified to build something similar live

Thompson said: “We are putting one into Walsall, and have identified three or four other sites live

“It is incredibly exciting for Bradford but probably even more exciting for the game live

I’m particularly pleased that this has come from Bradford Park Avenue and Yorkshire live

A hotbed of interesting cricket, it’s the first facility of its kind anywhere in the world and it’s not very often you can say that live
